When to arrive

Commuters may anticipate heavy traffic through the 8:20am sailing. It is advisable for vehicles to arrive 30-45 minutes ahead of the scheduled departure time. For non-peak travel, a 20 minute advance arrival is recommended. Loading for Vashon Island will stop 3 minutes prior to sailing. Passengers should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to sailing.

Parking

Parking is available in an adjacent parking lot and managed by U-Park System.

Effective Monday, May 25, 2026, parking rates at the Southworth U-Park lot are $15 plus tax ($16.61 total) for up to 12 hours and $20 plus tax ($22.14 total) for up to 24 hours. A monthly parking pass is $101.01. U-Park offers a pay-by-plate system, making it easier to extend your parking time using the Scan to Pay mobile option, available through QR code signage at the lot.

There are approximately 215 parking spaces. For connecting bus information check Kitsap Transit.

To sign up for monthly parking, carpools, and vanpools, please call U-Park System Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at (206) 284-9797

There is no charge for disabled parking customers displaying a valid disabled parking placard or license plate. There are 10 ADA spaces available in this lot. It’s important to note that when all of the ADA spaces are filled in the WSF lot that customers are allowed to park in any empty space for free with their ADA placard, except those spaces reserved for other uses (e.g., carpool and Ferry System employee vehicles).

Bikes

Bicyclists may bypass the line of traffic. All Vashon-bound bicyclists must stop at the vehicle tollbooth. Fauntleroy-bound bicyclists may continue down to the front of the dock (there is no payment for passengers or bicycles traveling from Southworth to Fauntleroy), bypassing the booth.

Bicyclists should arrive 20 minutes prior to departure time to be loaded at the beginning of loading process. If a bicyclist arrives after vehicle loading has begun, they will be loaded at the end of the load. Riders should walk their bikes on and off the ferry to avoid injuring passengers. There is one rack that holds 8 bikes.
